LINCOLN (AP) — A 39-year-old Nebraska man has been sentenced to three to six years in prison for robbing a Walmart last year even though he says he didn't have a gun.
Cedric Rigsby was sentenced this week for robbery.
Prosecutors say Rigsby took a laptop computer and two video game consoles from a Lincoln Walmart last May after showing a handgun to a garden center clerk.
Deputy Lancaster County Public Defender Webb Bancroft said what Rigsby did is closer to shoplifting than robbery. Rigsby maintains that he didn't have a gun, but pleaded no contest to robbery.
Prosecutor Amy Jacobsen said the gun that Rigsby used may not have been real because his girlfriend's son was missing his BB gun.
