Nate Polak, a senior from Hastings College, has been selected by the New York Red Bulls in the fourth round of the Major League Soccer supplemental draft. He's the first player in Hastings and GPAC history to be selected in the MLS draft.
Polak was a two-time first team all-league selection and the 2011 Great Plains Athletic Conference offensive player of the year. He also was a first-team NAIA All-American this season.
He scored 43 goals and recorded 30 assists in his three years for the Broncos. He transferred to Hastings after spending his freshman year at Drake University.
Polak's younger brother Tyler, who played at Creighton, was selected in the second round of the MLS SuperDraft earlier this week by the New England Revolution.
