With the University of Nebraska at Omaha leaving Division II and adding a men's team, the state now has three men's and three women's programs in Division I golf.
The fall season begins Tuesday with Creighton's women hosting Northern Iowa in a 10 a.m. dual at Omaha Country Club. The major events are Nebraska's Chip-N Club women's invitational at the Country Club of Lincoln and the Huskers' Fairway Club men's invitational at ArborLinks in Nebraska City, both on Sept. 12 and 13.

Former University of Arizona golfer Nate Tyler won the Oregon Trail Pro-Am at Scotts Bluff Country Club by four strokes. O'Neill's John Hurley, who played in the final threesome, backed up with a final-round 75 to finish seven strokes behind. Tyler's college teammate, Scottsbluff's Nate Lashley, bypassed the tournament to play in the Utah Open.
Brandon Crick of McCook took second at the Dakotas Tour's North Dakota State Open. Entering the season-ending tour championship this week at The Ridge in Sioux Center, Iowa, he's fifth and A.J. Elgert of Lincoln 11th in the points race.
