Cox Classic winner Killeen co-leads; Friesen 4 back

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Cox Classic champion J.J. Killeen was one of four Nationwide Tour pros who shot a 63 Thursday to tie for the first-round lead at the Midwest Classic.

Also at 63 were Nicholas Thompson, Travis Hampshire and Brian Vranesh. Lincoln native Steve Friesen, winner of last week’s Price Cutter Charity Championship, shot a 67.
