LINCOLN — A double bogey on Wilderness Ridge's 18th hole wasn't enough Tuesday to deny Lincoln's Scott Holly his first Nebraska PGA Professional Championship.
Holly had birdied the 17th hole to go three strokes up on two-time defending champion Jim White of Lincoln, who was in the clubhouse at even par.
Holly is the coordinator of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Professional Golf Management program.
Along with Omaha's Pete Hagen, Chris Wiemers and Jon Petersen, Holly and White qualified for the 45th PGA Professional national championship next June.
Wiemers birdied six of the first eight holes on his final nine before closing with a bogey.
