Neighborhood notes: Fourth of July edition

Huntington Park Homeowners Association will have its third annual Fourth of July parade at 10 a.m. Monday.

Decorated bicycles, tricycles, scooters, wagons and strollers will fill the parade. It will begin by the tennis courts and end at the pavilion with snacks.

Bridlewood Omaha Neighborhood Associations will have their first Bridlewood Fourth of July bike parade at 6 p.m. Sunday.

All residents can decorate bikes and parade through a few streets in the neighborhood, ending at the roundabout by the park.

Candlewood Homeowners Association will have a parade from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday. It will begin at the 132nd street roundabout and finish in Candlewood Park with snacks and prizes.

Later, from 5 p.m to 9 p.m., families can gather in the park for a picnic dinner and live music.

The Shadow Lake Neighborhood in Papillion has more than 40 children, a clown and several dogs registered for the third annual Shadow Lakes Kids & Pets Independence Day Parade and Potluck.

The festivities will be Saturday, starting at Bell Elementary School and ending in Azule Circle.

Armbrust Acres Homeowners Association will sponsor its second annual Fourth of July party from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday at Armbrust Acres Park.

Area residents should expect a disc jockey and a professional fireworks display.

The Hillsborough Homeowners Association's Independence Day parade will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday

Hillsborough neighbors will provide decorations and assist the parents and children in decorating bikes, wagons, strollers, animals, etc., before the parade. A route near the park will be followed, with a police cruiser, firetruck or both leading the way.

After the parade, participants will have ice cream and drinks at Hillsborough Park.

The Maple Village Neighborhood Association will have its Fourth of July parade beginning at 10 a.m. Monday.

Parade participants should meet on the east side of Laura Dodge Elementary School.
